Climacity

Climacity is an interactive 3D installation demo made in collaboration with and showcased at the American Museum of Natural History. It visualizes how sea levels change over time due to climate change and allows viewers to track these changes and their effects from multiple perspectives.

PROJECT GOALS

Viewers observe how the Battery Park area is affected by rising sea levels and extreme weather events due to climate change over time. They are able to control the timeline and choose camera perspectives to observe how the area has changed over time and which structures and landmarks are at risk of flooding. By allowing direct interaction, museum visitors not simply watch the events unfold passively, but experience them as a direct result of their navigation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 3D modeling architecture in Blender and Maya

  • Designing UI mock-ups and UX flows

  • Researching climate change prediction models and analyzing data
